During the summer there are many Matsuri, or festivals, held in each town around Tokyo. They are essentially a large sreet market with many food and drink vendors selling their wares to the thousands of people that line the streets and watch the festivities. Often there is traditional dancing and a form of drum playing for which I cannot recollect the name of.
