Around Chinese new year time the colour red is meant to bring you luck, and the number of red lanterns around Yokohama was hard to estimate.

What would make this truly perfect is if the symbolism was completed by the pictogram meaning 'luck' or some such......

It's actually the chinese character meaning heaven, sky or ceiling. Next time I'll look for the lucky one!
