Move Along

As promised we're back to Tokyo now. At the start of a new year many Japanese like to visit a shrine to pray and donate a few coins to bring luck and good fortune for the coming year. With any kind of event in Tokyo this means there are guarenteed to be a large number of people and at Meiji shrine in the evening of the 1st of January there were still large numbers of new year prayers queuing and being slowly released into the main shrine in waves.

This policeman is part of the many uniforms on people traffic duty.
