...but not as we know it. Last.FM has been introduced to me by none other than Alex.

It is internet radio streamed direct to your PC, but the twist is that is it's personalised to your musical tastes. You build up a profile of songs to begin with and as you listen to more and more tracks it begins to play you music you don't necessarily know but will probably like.

It does this by comparing your profile to that of others and assigning you a bunch of neighbours who have similar artists and albums. Your radio station then picks songs from your profile and the profiles of your neighbours. You can optionally use a winamp plugin (audioscrobbler) to expand your profile with info on songs you play locally.
