I've been a bit preoccupied recently, watching a series called Hikaru no Go. It's the fisrt anime series I've seen but the reviews over at AnimeInfo.com rank it at number 14 in the top 100 series of all time!
With a mere 75 episodes it is not quite as heavy weight as some of the series out there.. 180+ seems a little too obessesive for a cartoon series! The series follow a boy called Shindou Hikaru as he progresses through junior high and above. Here is a bit of a review of Hikaru to whet your appetite:
This anime is just outstanding and addictive. I ended up marathoning a lot of the eps for this since I kept wanting to see more. The characters are likeable and very realistic. I had to chuckle quite a few times because there was so much drama over the games/moves but it's all good......My main problem with it is that it ended.
